Device Testing FAQ

Is it requried to test my device annually?

Yes according to the manufacturer it is requried to test the device annual

What types of devices must be tested?

Any devices that are testable.

What if I choose not to use my lawn irrigation system this year?

If you choose not to use your lawn irrigation system you must inform CCRA Professional Services. By Email at or by phone.

When is it required to have my device tested for my lawn irrigation system?

It is required to have your device tested at the time of install or in the spring when it is reinstalled before normal use.

What is testing frequency of testable backflow devices?

The required testing frequency is annual per the manufacturers recommendation.

Why must my device be tested?

Testable devices have springs and seals built into them which can lose tension and breakdown over time causing the deive to not function properly during a backflow event.

What does testing a device show?

Testing a device shows that during a backflow event the device would function properly protecting the water system.

Who can test my device/s?

WUI (Survey) FAQ

Is the Water Usage Inventory (WUI) Survey Required

If you recived notice from your water authority to complete your WUI Survey then yes it is requried to be completed.

Where do I located my account number?

It will be the same number your water bill, also the letter that you receive has the account number in the upper right corner.

I have entered in my water account number, but it will not accept my number. How to I proceed?

Ensure that you are entering the number in correctly, the number you should enter is on the survey letter you received from your water provider.

I think I already completed my water survey, is there a way I can check?

Go to, click on take your survey, select your municipally, and enter your water account number. If you have completed your survey a message will appear saying “Your Survey is Complete”.

What is the purpose of completing the water survey about my property?

The purpose of completing your water survey is to locate­­­­­­ any types of dangerous connections that could cause a cross contamination incident if there was a backflow incident in your municipality.

Who can complete the water survey for my property?

Anyone with knowledge of the property or someone that can walk around the property to answer the questions from the water survey.

How long does the WUI survey take?

3-5 minutes for the average homeowner

What types for questions are on the WUI survey?

General questions about hyour water system on the property.

Do you need mechanical knowledge to complete the water survey?

No, the average homeowner can complete the survey. There are pictures on certain questions to help make the survey easier to complete and less confusing.

I do not have computer access how do I complete my survey?

There are paper water surveys available through your water provider or the managing company.
